New Beginnings

I've been Paul Folk for about a month now. My friends in the Calgary Young Anarchists Movement bestowed the new last name, and I decided to take their lead...for a number of reasons. First, I think they see me for who I am, and named me accordingly. This makes far more sense to me than just bestowing upon me my father's last name. Nothing against my dad; it's just a genderist practice that seems less sensible than having your friends name you does to me.

Second, I'm itching to start something rolling, even revolving, and a new name seems appropriate.

I've been a singer-songwriter most of my days; but made the error of letting it lie dormant while I pursued a profession most would think more secure and higher status. I don't know why: Status has never meant anything to me, and nothing's secure.

More later. Listen and hear.
